Across our Sunbury Campus and Years 7–9 at the Bullengarook Campus, teachers use the Victorian Curriculum F.A-10 2.0 to plan, assess, and report on student learning. We value consistency in curriculum delivery, a clear commitment to the Department of Education’s Framework for Improving Student Outcomes (FISO 2), and a cohesive learning continuum from Prep to Year 9.

The Victorian Curriculum F.A-10 2.0 is the guiding curriculum for all Victorian schools. It incorporates the Australian Curriculum and reflects the unique standards and priorities of our state.
The curriculum is accessed via the Victorian Curriculum F.A-10 2.0 website, with additional resources and support materials available through our internal platforms.

This framework allows us to tailor teaching to each student’s point of need, ensuring personalised support and growth for every learner. We foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that nurtures academic, social, and emotional development.

We place strong emphasis on core areas such as:

  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Health and Physical Education
  • Personal and Social Capability
  • The Arts- Visual Arts and Music

In Prep to Year 9, and students in our Sunbury Secondary program, all students have Individual Education Plans (IEPs), with goals aligned to the Victorian Curriculum. Our VPC students in Year 10-12 at Bullengarook, work towards the Victroian Pathways Certificate. IEPs ensure learning is personalised, enabling students to access curriculum content at levels appropriate to their individual strengths and needs.

Our partnership with families, carers, and our Allied Health team is essential to supporting each child’s holistic development. The Allied Health team—including Occupational Therapists and Speech Pathologists—provides targeted support across social, emotional, physical, and academic areas.

Termly Humanities and Science topics promote an integrated approach to learning. These units help students make meaningful connections across subjects, build engagement through interest-based exploration, and develop critical capabilities.

Wellbeing is central to everything we do. Students are supported through a range of curriculum programs, including School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS), Zones of Regulation and Health and Human Relations, incorporating the Respectful Relationships curriculum. These programs foster resilience, empathy, and positive social skills at every year level.

At SMRSS, learning is a continuous journey. Every student is encouraged to thrive through personalised learning pathways. We are committed to equipping all learners with the knowledge, skills, and capabilities they need for success—now and into the future.
