At the Bullengarook Campus, Sunbury & Macedon Ranges Specialist School students in years 10, 11 & 12 complete studies towards the Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC).
The VPC aims to:
- Equip students with the skills, knowledge, values and capabilities to be active and informed citizens, lifelong learners and confident and creative individuals.
- Empower students to make informed decisions about the next stages or their lives through authentic workplace and community experiences.
- Provide students with the best opportunity to achieve their personal goals and aspirations in a rapidly changing world.
The VPC curriculum provides learning through an applied learning model and serves as a practical pathway into further education, employment and post school options for our students. The VPC at Sunbury & Macedon Ranges Specialist School is designed to provide our students with the opportunity to complete the certificate over a three-year period where they undertake units of study in:
- Literacy
- Numeracy
- Work Related Skills
- Personal Development Skills.
The VPC can include credit units from Vocational Education and Training (VET) subjects that the school also provides which broadens the scope for VPC completion amongst our students.
A student is successfully awarded the VPC when they have satisfactorily completed a combination of units that meet the VPC minimum requirement.
